7 February 2018 – A MoU signing ceremony was held between Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) and four (4) local education institutions – Satellite Partners, at Lecture Theatre 2, Library Complex at UTB Campus.
The Satellite Partners include the International Graduate Studies College (KIGS); Kemuda Institute (KI); Micronet International College (MIC), and Cosmopolitan College of Commerce and Technology (CCCT).
The Guest of Honour at the Ceremony was Yang Mulia, Professor Dr. Dayang Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman, Vice-Chancellor of UTB. Also present at the Ceremony were UTB Principal Officers, the Strategic Partners representatives, staff and students of the University.
The ceremony began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat led by Yang Mulia, Ustaz Mohammad Fazalley bin Haji Hidup, UTB Religious Officer, followed by Welcoming Remarks by Yang Mulia, Dr. Hajah Noor Maya binti Haji Mohd Salleh, Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Academic).
The primary objective of the Programme is to support Government Vision 2035 to achieve Educated, Highly Skilled and Accomplished People through provision of education opportunities.
The foundation programme therefore intended to offer options of further study pathways to potential students. This programme will be offered to those students who have fall short of points for admission to Undergraduate Programmes at UTB in the areas of Business and Computing.
Following the signing, the programme will require eligible students to undergo a one year (2 semesters duration) programme where they will need to complete 9 – 10 modules before they can progress to UTB Year 1 or Year 2 depending upon their academic achievements.
Signing on behalf of UTB was the Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Yang Mulia Dr. Hajah Noormaya binti Haji Mohd Salleh and witnessed by the Vice-Chancellor, Yang Mulia Professor Dr. Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman. Meanwhile, the Satellite Partners were represented by Yang Mulia Pg Haji Mohd Rahimin bin PSJ Pg Haji Abd Momin, Acting Chief Executive Officer of International Graduate Studies College; Yang Mulia Mrs. Loo Mei Tim, Managing Director of Kemuda Institute; Yang Mulia Mr. Sylvester Yong, Chief Executive Officer of Micronet International College; and Yang Mulia Dyg Nadirah binti Jambol, Director of Studies of the Cosmopolitan College of Commerce and Technology.
