UTB PARTICIPATES IN WORLD METEOROLOGICAL DAY 2019

1 April 2019 – Students of the Faculty of Engineering (FEng), UTB took part in an exhibition in conjunction with the World Meteorological Day 2019 that was organised by the Brunei Darussalam Meteorological Department (BDMD).

The World Meteorological Day celebrated annually on 23 March with the theme “The Sun, The Earth and The Water”. The exhibition was held on 1 April 2019 at the Garden’s Veranda Hall, Rimba Garden Central and was officiated by the Minister of Transport and Info-communications, The Honourable Dato Seri Setia Awang Mutalib bin Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Haji Mohammed Yusof.

At the exhibition, the students from FEng, Awang Mohamed Hamirol Aqim bin Mohd Salleh, Awang Mohammad Qawi Bin Haji Zainuddin and Dayang Nur Wardhyana Binti Yahya along with their lecturer, Yang Mulia Dr. Shahriar Shams showcased their research with links to meteorological data.

The theme chosen for World Meteorological Day was to reflect topical weather, climate or water-related issues. It was also to commemorate the contribution of National Meteorological and Hydrological Services to the safety and wellbeing of society and promote awareness through activities around the world.
