8 May 2019 – A Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) and Kemuda Institute (KI) was signed at the Kemuda Institute Campus at Kg. Beribi. This was following the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between UTB and KI on February, 7th last year.

Present at the event were Yang Mulia Awang Haji Ady Syarmin bin Hj Md Taib, the Acting Vice-Chancellor of UTB and Yang Mulia Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Razak bin Hj Muhammad, the Executive Chairman of KI. Also present at the event were Principal Officers, Staff and Students of UTB and KI.

The MoA was signed by Yang Mulia Dr. Dayang Hajah Noor Maya binti Haji Md. Salleh, the Assistant Vice-Chancellor (Academic) of UTB and Yang Mulia Ms. Loo Mei Tim, the Managing Director of KI.

The agreement entails the UTB-Satellite Partners (SP) Bridging Programmes offered by the UTB and KI. The two UTB-SP Bridging Programmes under this agreement include the Bridging for Tomorrow’s Engineering (BriTE) and Bridging for Computing (BriCOMP).

Under this agreement, KI will offer a 14 Weeks Undergraduate Degree Entry Pathway to students who meet the University’s minimum entry requirements but fall short of points for admission to specific Engineering and Computing undergraduate degree programmes at UTB. This programme also offers to anyone who have been out of study for a period of time, the opportunity to upgrade their fundamental knowledge and skills required to further their study onto an engineering and computing degree programme.

Upon successful completion of the programme, the students will join UTB to undergo their Undergraduate Degree Programme.
