All registered students are members of the UTB’s Student Association. Through an annual election process organised by Student Affairs, the students will elect their members to the Student Representative Council (SRC). It is expected that the make-up of the Student Representative Council comprise representatives from a broad representation across the programmes. Terms of office is for one academic year.

Majlis Perwakilan Pelajar, initially called Badan Kebajikan Pelajar (BKP) which then officially launched as an official Student Council of Universiti Teknologi Brunei, known as Majlis Perwakilan Mahasiswa/I (MPM) in 2011. The following year, 2012 the MPM were changed to Majlis Perwakilan Pelajar (MPP)
