REPORT WRITING EXPLORED BY ADMIN STAFF

16 May 2019 – FOURTEEN staff from various departments attended the ‘Report Writing Workshop’ at Training Room of the University. The workshop was organised by the Centre for Communication, Teaching & Learning (CCTL) as part of the Administrative Staff Development Programme and was facilitated by Yang Mulia Ms. Thulasimani Munohsamy.

The workshop looks at how to prepare and plan reports that meet their intended purpose; to structure and organize clearly written report; to proof read and edit their report effectively before submitting to their intended readers; and to professionally present their written report.

Report Writing is a mean of internal communication in any organisation. It facilitates in decision-making and planning, and provides information to employees with known and unknown information.

This workshop was designed to guide participants on the different types of reports to draft particularly for administrative staff for different purposes. The facilitator explained the various types of reports and explained the standard format for short and long report. In the second part of the workshop, the participants get to write short reports and presented to the whole team.
