30 August 2019 – PUJA-UTB Student Chapter’s (PUJA-UTB SC) pursuit of acquiring knowledge and experience continued with a technical visit to the Royal Brunei Airlines (RBA), Berakas.
About 25 people including students undertaking Civil Engineering programme and Mechanical Engineering programme from Faculty of Engineering (FEng) as well as PUJA staff members joined the visit which was led by the student body’s president, Yang Ming Kian and a lecturer from FEng, Dr. Ismawi bin Haji Mohd Yusof.
The visit began with a Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) briefing followed by technical presentations and tours led by the airline’s Technical Training Instructors, Mr. Lim Chee Cheng and Awang Ali bin Bujang. The delegation visited the workshops and was given demonstrations concerning an airplane’s functionality such as its batteries, emergency systems and wheels.
The visit was aimed for the members and students to learn and observe first-hand experience on the engineering works behind aircraft systems. It also served as a means to expose the students to their future work possibilities.
