MASTERING THE ART OF TELEPHONE ETIQUETTE

20 April 2019 – UTB Administrative Staff attended ‘Telephone Etiquette Workshop” at the Training Room, UTB. The workshop was organised by the Centre for Communication, Teaching & Learning (CCTL) as part of the Administrative Staff Development Programme and was facilitated by Yang Mulia Miss Thulasimani Munohsamy.

The objective of the workshop was to learn effective telephone skills, the how-to-handle incoming and outgoing calls professionally and handling challenging calls. A total of 15 staff from various departments attended the workshop.

This workshop was designed for the participants to see the importance of developing telephone communication skills. The participants shared their different experiences dealing with telephone operators. The trainer explained the golden rules for telephone communications and in the second part of the workshop, participants role played telephone conversation based on the scenarios given in the workshop. Telephone etiquette is a unique attribute that facilitates great communication inside and outside office.
