LIVEWIRE BRUNEI LAUNCHES ENERGY SOLUTIONS PROGRAMME WITH UTB

4 March 2019 – A two-day workshop organised by LiveWIRE Brunei was held at the Engineering Block, Phase 3, UTB. The workshop was co-organised with the Faculty of Engineering, UTB. LiveWIRE Brunei launched its Energy Solutions (ES) Programme that is designed to develop awareness, entrepreneurial skills and ideas into viable business solutions for energy diversification and efficiency.

The programme was attended by the students and lecturers from UTB. The programme began with an opening speech from Yang Mulia, Hajah Rosita binti Haji Hassan, In-Country Value Manager of Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sdn Bhd (BSP) and Chairman of the LiveWIRE Board of Directors.

In her speech, she stated that “Achieving Access to Energy (A2E) is an enabler to the Shell Purpose and #MakeTheFuture, and by introducing ES, would bridge the gap in bringing Brunei one step closer to power progress together by providing more and cleaner solutions.”

Apart from raising awareness amongst UTB students, LiveWIRE ES programme also provides mentoring of entrepreneurial students, post-delivery for development of business case, proto-type product and/or service.

The workshop conducted for students was divided into six modules for two consecutive days – conducting marketing assessment, applying design thinking, developing a theory of change, developing a business model, building and managing teams and developing a narrative.

Invited speakers from BSP, Yang Mulia Nur Aiman ‘Aqilah binti Salleh-Bostaman and Miss Jenna Anand presented about the Market Assessment of the Energy Sector in Brunei. The presentation focused on the overview of the current energy landscape in Brunei and understanding the process of conducting a market assessment.
