FOOD SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY PROGRAMME STUDENT LEAVES FOR RESEARCH PLACEMENT IN OSAKA, JAPAN

29 July 2019 – A postgraduate student from the Food Science and Technology Programme Area, School of Applied Sciences and Mathematics, Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) left the country for two months from 30 July until 25 September 2019 to engage in research activities at Osaka University, Japan. Dayang Afiqah Nabihah @ Era Fezirah binti Ahmad will carry out a research on bio-based food packaging materials with the help of technological innovation at the Department of Applied Chemistry, Graduate School of Engineering, hosted by Professor Hiroshi Uyama.

The visit is part of collaboration between UTB and Osaka University ASEAN Campus SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) Co-Creation Programme organised by the Centre for Global Initiatives (GLOCOL) at Osaka University. This visit aims to strengthen the students’ scientific insights as well as to produce research outputs by conducting an extensive research in a well-established lab.
