Fifth Batch of JENESYS 2016 Youth Programme Departs For Japan

SIXTEEN Bruneian youths comprising eight students from Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) and Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) and eight members of the Federation of Brunei-Malay Entrepreneurs left the Sultanate to participate in the Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths (JENESYS) hosted by the Japanese government.

The group is the fifth batch of JENESYS 2016, in which the Government of Japan is scheduled to invite a total of 250 Bruneians to Japan in the 2016 fiscal year, which ends in March 2017.

‘Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs)’ is the main theme for the visit. Under the programme, the group will visit several institutions, namely the Hyakugo Research Institute Co Ltd (Mie Prefecture); a regional consulting firm where the participants will learn about trade with and investments to Southeast Asia through SMEs in Japan; Bankyo Pharmaceutical Co Ltd, a manufacturer of skin care products; Seisakusho Co Ltd, a die and metal parts stamping company, and Tsuji Oil Mills Co Ltd, a vegetable oil manufacturer.
