  • PhD in Electronics and Electrical Engineering (Univ. of Southampton, UK).
  • MSc in Nanoelectronics & Nanotechnology (Univ. of Southampton, UK).
  • PGCTE (UBD, Brunei).
  • BEng in Electronics and Electrical Egineering (Twinned UBD, Brunei & Univ. of Glasgow, UK).

Background:

  • She has experience in fabrication and characterization of thin film in nanometer scale.
  • Her PhD work focused on the design, fabrication and characterization of vertical optical waveguide based on slope platform. The design of the interlayer waveguide coupler is compact in structure for high density optical routing in multilayer silicon photonics integrated circuits.

Research Interest

  • To contribute to the development of multilayer silicon photonics technology by exploring methods to efficiently route and distribute optical signal from one layer to another – using low loss high refractive index silicon-based materials. The research in designing the interlayer waveguide interconnect emphasizes on maximizing light transmission, without imposing high insertion loss and at the same time providing sufficient isolation to avoid crosstalk.

     

  • Exploring Group IV and metal-oxide semiconductor nanostructured materials for solar energy harvesting and sensor applications – through bandgap tuning.
