14 September 2019 – Thirteen UTB students from Faculty of Engineering, School of Applied Sciences and Mathematics, and School of Design along with other thirteen students from Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) left the Sultanate to participate in the Discovery Trip to China that will take place for nine days starting 14 September 2019 in Beijing and Xi’an, China.
The UTB students were led by the Deputy Director of International and Public Relations Office, Yang Mulia Dayang Siti Noorfatimah binti Hj Awang Safar and the ECA Officer, Yang Mulia Mohamad Shah @ Muhammad Lutfi Hadi bin Hj Asmat.
The Discovery Trip is supported by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Brunei Darussalam. The delegation will be visiting Chinese universities which includes Peking University, Beijing Foreign Study University, Beijing Institute of Technology, Xi’an Jiaotong University and Northwest University to exchange views with Chinese teachers and students. The delegates will also be touring famous historical and cultural places such as Great Wall, The Palace Museum, Emperor Qinshihuang’s Mausoleum site museum, Wild Goose Pagoda, Grand Tang Dynasty Ever-bright City, Xi’an City Wall, Great Mosque and more exciting places.
The visit aims to further enhance the delegates’ understanding of China’s language, culture and education as well as enhancing friendship between the two countries.
