His Excellency Dr Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri, Director General of the Islamic Education, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) visited Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) to explore potential collaboration in academic and research fields.
His Excellency had a meeting with Professor Zuruzi bin Abu Samah, Assistant Vice Chancellor (Research), Principal Officers and relevant academic staff of UTB. During the meeting, His Excellency Dr Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri was given a presentation on the range of academic programmes offered. His Excellency was also briefed on new bachelor degree programmes in architecture and in product design offered by School of Design as well as the new Master by Coursework in Petroleum Engineering offered by UTB’s Faculty of Engineering.
During the meeting, His Excellency Dr Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri was also briefed by UTB researchers on energy research being carried out at UTB. His Excellency was briefed on UTB’s research efforts in extracting biofuel from biomass and in deriving value from timber wastes.
This visit, among others, strengthens and promotes the cooperation between member countries of the aforementioned organisations, including Brunei Darussalam, in the research fields of education, science, culture and communication.
